Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No toxic effects up to the limit of water solubility (< 1 mg/L) for Danio rerio (OECD 202).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

One short-term study with Daphnia magna in a static system is available (Swarbrick and Smyth, 2005) for Fatty acids, C18-unsatd., dimers, 2-ethylhexyl esters (CAS No. 68334-05-4). The study over a 48 hour period was conducted according to OECD guideline 202. As the test substance has a low water solubility (< 1 mg/L) water accommodated fractions (WAFs) with a loading rate of 100 mg/L were used during this test. No effect up to the limit of the water solubility of the tested substances was observed (EL50 > 100 mg/L; NOELR ≥ 100 mg/L).

Thus, fatty acids, C18-unsatd., dimers, 2-ethylhexyl esters is not harmful to aquatic invertebrates.
