Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In the key study density was determined according to EU Method B.3 and OECD Guideline 109 (Density of Liquids and Solids) OECD Guideline 109 (Density of Liquids and Solids). Results show that density of Pyridine, alkyl deriv. is in the range of >= 0.90 to <= 1.10 g/mL. The average value was determined to be 1.008 g/mL at 20 °C.
In a supporting study density determination was carried out with 5-ethyl-2-methylpyridine (MEP, CAS no.: 104-90-5, EC no.: 203-250-0). The read-across between the UVCB substance and the model constituent is justified (for details see rationale for reliability). A study similar or equivalent to OECD Guideline 109 (Density of Liquids and Solids) revealed the relative density to be 0.9208 g/mL at 20 °C.
