Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The respiration rate of an activated sludge after an incubation duration of three hours was investigated according to OECD Guideline 209. Based on measured oxygen consumption values the 3-hour EC50 value of the test item was determined to be higher than 110 mg/L. The EC10 value was determined to be 62 mg/L

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for microorganisms:
110 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
62 mg/L

Additional information

The respiration rate of an activated sludge after an incubation duration of three hours was investigated according to OECD Guideline 209.

Due to the poor water solublilty of the test item, a WAF (water accommodated fraction) was used for testing. As inoculum microorganisms from a sewage treatment plant were used. The following concentration (nominal/effective) were used: 20/11.4 mg/L; 60/31.1 mg/L; 200/114 mg/L.

The respiration rate of the activated sludge for these test item concentrations incubated with the WAF were found to be 0.5; 3.0 and 25.8 mg 02/(L*h) after three hours. Based on measured oxygen consumption values the 3-hour EC50 value of the test item was determined to be higher than 110 mg/L. The EC10 value was determined to be 62 mg/L
