Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

In a 48 hour acute toxicity (immobilization) test under static conditions, no mortality occurred in 40 daphnids (duplicate groups of 20) exposed to a single test concentration of 1.0 rng/1 for a period of 48 hours. 1.0 mg/l was the highest test concentration that could be prepared due to the limited solubility of the test material .in water and having regard to the amount of auxiliary solvent permitted under OECD Guideline No. 202.

The toxicity study is classified as acceptable and fully satisfies the guideline requirement for short-term toxicity to fish.

The data from this study clearly shows the test substance not to be acutely toxic at levels up to and exceeding the limit of solubility. Whilst chemistry data shows some ‘losses’ over time, there is indication of settlement in the test vessels, and the tested concentration did exceed the known limit of solubility. In conclusion, it is unlikely that a repeated study would yield any additional information on the acute toxicity to Daphnia.
