Endpoint:
skin sensitisation: in vivo (LLNA)
Type of information:

Adequacy of study:
other information
Reliability:
3 (not reliable)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: see 'Remark'
Remarks:
Data are lacking in the publication but the study has been performed by the team that developped the test. So it is considered that it has been appropriately conducted. However, as DES is corrosive, and LLNA is known to induce false positive response for very irritant substances, the validity of this positive response is doubtful.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
sensitising
Remarks:
Migrated information
Conclusions:
DES is positive in this LLNA test
Executive summary:

A LLNA test has been perfomed with DES as one of the 106 chemicals tested. A SAR was developed based on the electrophilicity of the substance.

DES was considered as a sensitizer in this test.
