Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

6-phenyl-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diyldiamine is not readily biodegradable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed

Additional information

Practically no biodegradation observed under test conditions by the result from OECD TG 301C and 301E.

Test result Data   OECD TG   Source
Under test conditions no ready biodegradation observed in water  BOD 2% (at BG 100mg/L) after 28 day  301C  Katagiri
Not regarded readily biodegradable in water  DOC 14% (at BG 17.1 mg/L) after 28 day 0% (at BG 34.2 mg/L) after 28 day  301E  Muttzal

Estimations performed by using the software BIOWIN (v.4.10) support the observations of the two guideline studies. In addition, the simulations give indication on ultimate biodegradation of Benzoguanamine within a timeframe of weeks to months.
