Endpoint:
flash point of flammable liquids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2010-01-21
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
test procedure in accordance with national standard methods
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
ISO 2719 (Determination of flash point - Pensky-Martens closed cup method)
Version / remarks:
2002
GLP compliance:
not specified
Type of method:
closed cup
Flash point:
149 °C
Atm. press.:
1 013 hPa

The flash point was determined according DIN EN ISO 2719 (Pensky-Martens, closed cup) with a Pensky-Martens Semi automatic apparatus PM4 (Petrotest). Temperature range: from room temperature to 200°C Heating rate: 5.5°C/min The test item was heated over night at 60°C, the liquid was placed in the test vessel. After closure of the vessel and starting the stirrer the apparatus was heated. Ignition trials were carried out regularly in order to ascertain whether or not the sample flashed at the current temperature. Two runs were done.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The flash point of 149°C at 1013 hPa was determined according to DIN EN ISO 2719 (Pensky-Martens, closed cup).
Executive summary:
