explosive properties of explosives
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive properties

Description of key information

In accordance with Column 2 Annex VII of the REACh Regulation EC 1907/2006 a study is not needed if there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties present in the molecule.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

non explosive

Additional information

A waiver is proposed for this endpoint. Moreover, the substance has a long history of use as a flame retardant and can therefore justifiably be considered to be non-explosive. Testing for explosivity is not justified on scientific grounds.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance fulfills the CLP exemption criteria, therefore no further testing is required, and it is NOT classified as explosive.
