Results and discussion

Neutralised ATMP (equivalent to 10 mg ATMP/kg bwt) resulted
in a non-significant 30% increase in the width of the
epiphyseal plate and inhibited mineralization of osteoid (n
= 4 animals). 

Uptake of 45Ca from ligated intestine was unaffected by
neutralised ATMP (P<0.001; n = 37 animals).

There was no significant effect on plasma calcium following
2, 3 or 7 s.c. treatments with neutralised ATMP. Plasma
phosphate was decreased (13%; P<0.05) after the second
injection only (i.e. on day 3, prior to treatment).

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
ATMP produced marginal effects on skeletal mineralization and did not influence intestinal calcium uptake or plasma calcium values.
