Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
vapour pressure
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2012-04-12 - 2012-05-03
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Remarks:
OECD 104, GLP.
Qualifier:
equivalent or similar to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 104 (Vapour Pressure Curve)
Version / remarks:
adopted by the Council 2006
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.4 (Vapour Pressure)
Deviations:
no
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The vapour pressure is determined by measuring the boiling temperature of the substance at various specified pressures between roughly 10 to
approx. 10³ hPa. The apparatus consists of a tube with a boiling section (by electrical heating) in the lower part, a cooler in the middle part, and an
outlet to a pressure regulation system in the upper part. The thermometer is placed in the vapour above the surface of the liquid. The temperature of the vapour is measured as a function of the pressure.
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
dynamic method
Key result
Temp.:
20 °C
Vapour pressure:
0.013 hPa
Remarks on result:
other: The vapour pressure at 20 °C was calculated by mathematical extrapolation using the Antoine equation.
Temp.:
25 °C
Vapour pressure:
0.021 hPa
Remarks on result:
other: The vapour pressure at 25 °C was calculated by mathematical extrapolation using the Antoine equation.

The vapour pressure was measured with the dynamic method: temperature range of 90 °C to 148 °C.

The following table shows the measured vapour pressure at the corresponding temperatures:

 Temperature [°C]  Vapour pressure [hPa]
 102.06  6.4
 109.30  10.2
 116.65  16.0
 122.18  20.2
 127.46  26.1
 130.68  30.0
 136.12  38.2
 142.68  50.0
 147.77  60.6
Conclusions:
The vapour pressure of Isobornyl acrylate was determined according to OECD guideline 104 [adopted 2006] and EU test method A.4
with the dynamic method. The vapour pressure was: 0.013 hPa at 20°C
Executive summary:

The vapour pressure of Isobornyl acrylate was determined according to OECD guideline 104 [adopted 2006] and EU test method A.4 with the dynamic method.

The vapour pressure was: 0.013 hPa at 20°C
