Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The substance has a very low potential to adsorb to sediment (considered to be negligible).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The substance is readily biodegradable under both aerobic and anaerobic conditions. Furthermore, because of its extreme high water solubility (>1 kg/L) and low octanol-water partition coefficient (log Kow: -1), the substance has a very low potential to adsorb to organic particles (considered to be negligible. The sediment compartment is not a relevant compartment in the environmental risk assessment of this substance (but the water compartment). Risks for the sediment compartment are considered to be low. It is considered justified to determine the toxicity to sediment organisms by the equilibrium partitioning method, without using an additional factor to the RCRs.
