Hexylene glycol biodegradation potential has been assessed according different test guidelines. The general outcome of those test is that hexylene glycol must be considered as readily biodegradable and does not raise concern in terms of persistency.

All further biodegradation studies on hexylene glycol in water, sediment and soil are waived on the basis of its ready biodegradability.
