Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
adsorption / desorption: screening
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the physicochemical properties of the substance indicate that it can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
Based on the physicochemical properties of the substance, a Koc value of 770 l/kg was calculated by EUSES as part of the environmental risk assessment. The use of this value in the risk assessment is considered to be a conservative value and did not result in a concern for the soil or sediment compartments (RCR <1) and further refinement of the Koc by an experimental study is not considered to be necessary. Further, in accordance with Annex 11.2, a screening study is considered to be not technically feasible due to the poor solubility of the substance, its UVCB nature and the difficulty in applying a suitable analytical method under the test conditions. Due to the limited validity QSAR models for both UVCBs and organometallic substances, it is not technically possible to address the endpoint using the QSAR calculation in accordance with recommendations in the Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment R7a Endpoint Specific Guidance. Although these calculations can be useful as conservative guidance for risk assessment purposes, they cannot be robustly and reliably summarised as the key data points for chemical safety assessment. As the Koc value calculated by EUSES is conservative, testing for this endpoint is not expected to generate new data or representative data for use in risk assessment
