Justification for classification or non-classification

The test substance could not be ignited with a flame, without propagation.

The main test is unnecessary, because no propagation was observed. The test substance is not a readily combustible solid in the sense of Guideline 92/69/EEC, test A. 10.

Based on the physical state, the structural elements and the melting point the substance has not to be classified as pyrophoric solid and self-heating substance. This is also supported by test data according to the respecitve guidelines.

Based on the testing of flammability in contact with water a slow reaction with water but no spontaneous ignition of the evolved gas was observed and therefore EU GHS criteria are not met and the test item is not classified as a material of class 4.3 according to the UN recommendations on the Transportation of Dangerous Goods.
