Additional information

Considering the low vapour pressure (0.00034 Pa), the good water solubility (500 mg/L at 25 °C) and the low potential for adsorption to organic soil and sediment particles (log Koc 2.4573) of propylparaben (CAS 94 -13 -3), the main compartment for environmental distribution is the water phase. As the substance is rapidly biodegraded in water and has a value < 3 for log Kow, bioaccumulation in aquatic organisms is not to be expected and discharged concentrations of this substance into the aqueous/sediment and soil compartment are likely to be low.
