Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The acute to toxicity of the test substance to Daphnia magna was examined for 48 h at 20 °C . EC50 was determined after 24 and 48 hr as > 100 mg/l nominal concentration using WAF method.

Additional information

Preliminary investigations of the water solubility of the test substance indicated that the material became more soluble over a period of 7 days. An initial range finding study using a water accomodated fraction WAF, prepared over a 48 hr period indicated no toxicity up to 100 mg/l. Therefore a limit test at the highest test concentration was considered more appropriate than the standard definitive test.

The definitive study tested a WAF of FR-720 at a nominal concentration of 100 mg/l; prepared by stirring for 10 days, there was no observed toxic effect on the exposed daphnia. Therefore it was not possible to calculate an EC50 value for this material to Daphnia.

Using Potassium dichromate as reference material showed EC50 of 0.75 mg/l.
