Description of key information

The acute toxicity of the test substance to aquatic invertebrates was examined in a GLP guideline study (BASF SE 2012) according to OECD 202 (2004) with the test species Daphnia magna in a static test system. The substance was tested in concentrations far above its water solubility.  A saturated solution of the test substance prepared at a loading concentration of 1 mg/L had no observable effect on Daphnia magna in the test media and under test conditions. Thus, an EC50 > 1 mg/L (nominal) after the 48 hour exposure period could be determined.

The acute toxicity of the test substance to aquatic invertebrates was examined in a GLP guideline study (BASF SE 2012) according to OECD 202 (2004) with the test species Daphnia magna in a static test system. The substance was tested in concentrations far above its water solubility.  No analytical evaluation of the limit concentration and the control was carried out. The test item is not soluble in water (< 0.005 mg/L), methanol, acetonitrile, toluole, 2-propanole, dichlormethane and tetrahydrofurane. For this reason, no analytical method could be established.A saturated solution of the test substance prepared at a loading concentration of 1 mg/L had no observable effect on Daphnia magna in the test media and under test conditions. Thus, an EC50 > 1 mg/L (nominal) after the 48 hour exposure period could be determined.
