Executive summary:

In a study to determine explosion properties of 4 -tert-butylpyrocatechol (CRTL, 2009), the shock test, the friction test, the thermal sensitivity test were performed according to the regulation (EC) n°440 /2008, A.14.

The 3 tests were negative.

According to the EC A.14 criteria, 4 -tert-butylpyrocatechol has no shock sensitivity, no friction sensitivity and no thermal sensitivity.

To conclude 4 -tert-butylpyrocatechol has not explosive properties.
