Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The acute toxicity of 1 -methylpiperazine to Daphnia magna was determined under static conditions according to OECD test guideline 202 in a limit test (Safepharm, 1993; report no. 142/144). The test concentration was not analytically monitored. However, based on the experiences gained in the Daphnia magna reproduction test (Noack, 2013; study no. DRE14703) and the algal growth inhibition test (Noack, 2013; study no. SSO14703), the test concentrations were stable over an exposure period of up to 72 hours with measured concentrations of ±20% of nominal values. After 48 hours of exposure, there was no effect on the mobility in the control or treatments. The 48 -hour EC50 was estimated to be >100 mg/L.

It can be concluded that the substance is with high probability acutely not harmful to aquatic invertebrates.
