First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove from exposure and keep person at rest. Seek medical
attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Irrigate thoroughly with water for at least 15 minutes. Seek

immediate medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected areas with water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Wash out mouth with water and give water to drink. Do not
induce vomiting. Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, dry-powder or carbon dioxide.

Product arising from burning: The substance is combustible and will burn if involved in a
fire, evolving noxious fumes such as carbon and nitrogen
oxides and halogen containing gases.

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing
apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: In the event of a large spillage wear an air suit, rubber
gloves and rubber boots and carefully collect up the solid
and transfer to a sealed container. Wipe up any residual
powder with a damp cloth and place in a container for
disposal.


In the event of a small spillage wear laboratory coat, eye
protection, rubber gloves and, if the spillage occurs
outside a fume cupboard, a dust respirator to FFP2S
protection. Collect the solid carefully and transfer to a
sealed container. Wipe up any residual solid with a damp
cloth and place in a container for disposal.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be stored, handled and used in
conditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity with

any local regulations in order to avoid exposure.



Engineering controls are necessary to reduce exposure to the

substance.



When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled
appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn.
Such protective equipment should conform to the appropriate
international or national standards as follows;

Chemical protective gloves to Standard EN374

Chemical resistant clothing to Standard EN368

Eye protection to Standard EN166


When necessary appropriate respiratory protection should be
used.


The standards mentioned above should be regarded as a
minimum.

Storage: The location should be cool, dry and well ventilated.


The substance should be stored in the original container
that should be correctly labelled and kept tightly closed
when not in use.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Fibre drums (85 litre) with PE-lining.

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: In normal use as a synthetic intermediate no recycling of
the substance is possible as it is completely converted
during the production processes. Spilled material should be
collected and disposed of by incineration.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The substance is not considered to constitute an immediate
hazard.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: None.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration is the preferred method of destruction.
Suitable abatement measures for oxides of nitrogen, carbon
monoxide, carbon dioxide and halogen containing gases should
be set in place for incinerator waste gases.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: This is not considered to be a normally suitable method for
destruction of the material. However, adverse effects on
sewage treatment systems would be unlikely.
