Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient promptly to fresh air. Symptomatic
treatment.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush immediately with copious amounts of water, including
under eyelids. Continue washing for 15 minutes. If
irritation persists, seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected area with soap and water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water fog, dry chemical and carbon dioxide may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protection by suitable clothing and positive pressure
self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (see 2.3.1).

Collect spilled material in a vacuum cleaner (or by other
means which control dust generation). Place collected
material in containers for disposal. Spillage site can then
be washed with water, but measures should be taken to avoid
wet waste discharge to drains/surface waters.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be used only in areas with controlled
ventilation, by process operators wearing protective
clothing, rubber gloves, goggles or glasses with sideshields
and dust/mist respirators.

Storage: Keep in sealed containers and store in a cool, dry,
ventilated area.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Packed in 100 litre fibreboard drums containing polyethylene
sacks. The drums are labelled on the outside.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None reported.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported

Dust explosion: Due to its relatively large particle size (> 90% of
substance > 75 microns), an explosion hazard is not
expected.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Substance not consumed in the first process cycle is
recovered (by distillation of solvent-based wastestream) and
re-used.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method at a suitable facility.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
