Description of key information

Due to its chemical structure, diisopropylnaphthalene (DIPN) cannot be hydrolyzed.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

DIPN consists of an aromatic naphthalene nucleus substituted with two isopropyl substituents and is chemically quite unreactive. It does not contain any functional group that could be hydrolyzed. Thus it is impossible to demonstrate any hydrolysis of DIPN in a hydrolysis study.
