Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In accordance with REACH regulation Annex VII column 2 the short-term toxicity testing on invertebrates "does not need to be conducted if adequate information for environmental classification and labelling is available."
There are tests available on short-term toxicity to fish, toxicity to aquatic algae and toxicity to microorganisms which do not lead to a classification as hazard for the environment of Acetoguanamine. Furthermore the Chemical Safety Assesment does not cause concern that there is any danger of Acetoguanamine for the environment. The Classification and Labelling of a substance is regulated in the CLP regulation (EC) No 1272/2008. In annex I 4.1.2.7 the CLP names the criteria for a classification of a substance as aquatic toxic. "Acute aquatic toxicity is normally determined using a fish 96 hour LC50, a crustacean species 48 hour EC50 and/or an algal species 72 or 96 hour EC50." As there are a short-term toxicity test to fish and a toxicity test to aquatic algae available, which do not show any hazard, the data on the behaviour of Acetoguanamine should be adequate and the third test on aquatic invertebrates should not be necessary as mentioned in REACH regulation Annex VII column 2.
