Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

An Activated Respiration Inhibition Test was not undertaken as Oxooil LS9 is sufficiently volatile to compromise the test result.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Under the test conditions required to conduct an Activated Sludge, Respiration Inhibition Test, Oxooil LS9 was shown to be sufficiently volatile to compromise the performance of the test. Although as result of an OECD TG 310 study (CO2 in sealed vessels or CO2 in headspace test) the substance was not readily biodegradable, but the information attained from the toxicity test control which was performed in that test was used as the screening information for possible toxicity of the substance to the microorganisms. At the final concentration (in the toxicity control vessels): 23.8 mg test material/l (equal to 20 mg Carbon/l, which was 50% of the total Carbon/l), the degradation rate of 36% was achieved. This result shows that the test substance is not toxic for the not adupted swearage treatment plant microorganisms which were used in this study. Therefore the toxicity test of substance to the microorganisms is not required.
