The measured data reported a Log10KOC >5.63 which is not suitable for risk assessment purposes. In order to derive a more appropriate value, a QSAR approach was adopted. As with estimation of Log10KOW, Ethylhexyltriazone, while being a complex molecule, has no functional groups or properties that fall outside the training data sets for the KOCWIN QSAR development, therefore it is probable that QSARs will be able to semi-quantitatively determine the “real” Log10KOC of the molecule. On the basis of this assessment, the returned value of 11.9 (estimated by Molecular Connectivity Indices) is considered a better estimate predictor of Log10KOC, than the "greater than" value calculated HPLC correlation.
