Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The partition coefficient is determined to 2.374 at 25 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
2.374
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

The partition coefficient is derived from an analogy using CAS 2390 -59 -2. The analogy substance describes as well as CAS 63157 -72 -2 the ethyl violett cation but its chloride form instead of the acetate form. Therefore the organic core part is considered as identical and the partition coefficient is mostly driven by this part, the influence of the anione could be neglected. In conclusion, the analogy uses the fundamental part of the substance and could therefore be considered as valid. The value is chosen as key value for the chemical safety assessment.
