Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

C/A = constant (high energy) Arc from 10 kV transformer.

Small localized ignitions were observed but the flame never detached from the ignition source nor did it propogate.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The substance is not a flammable gas.
Executive summary:

The flammability of the substance was determined in a study in accordance with EU Method A.11 (flammable gases) and in compliance with GLP criteria (NOTOX BV, 2010). At room temperature, up to a concentration of 20 % (v/v) small localised ignitions were observed but the flame never detached from the ignition source nor did it propogate. Based on the available information, the test substance is not classified as flammable gas in accordance with EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation No. (EC) 1272/2008.

Description of key information

Based on the results of the test it is concluded that the substance is not a flammable gas. The test substance does not contain groups that might lead to ignition in contact with air. Moreover the test substance was handled under normal laboratory conditions which demonstrated that the test substance does not ignite in contact with air.

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

The flammability of the substance was determined in a study in accordance with EU Method A.11 (flammable gases) and in compliance with GLP criteria (NOTOX BV, 2010). At room temperature, up to a concentration of 20 % (v/v) small localised ignitions were observed but the flame never detached from the ignition source nor did it propogate.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the available information, classification on flammability is not warranted in accordance with EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation No. (EC) 1272/2008.
