Additional information

The substance is readily biodegradable with a low (i.e. <5) log Kow (-4.98) and log Koc (2.90), indicating that there is a low potential for soil adsorption and thus a low risk of exposure of soil organisms to the substance. Furthermore, short-term aquatic toxicity studies do not indicate that the substance is very toxic (i.e. the EC/LC50 >1 mg/L for algae, daphnia and fish). Based on this assessment, information on toxicity of the substance to soil organisms is not required, although a screening approach to evaluate potential risk is recommended. Therefore, a PNEC soil was calculated using the equilibrium partition method (EPM).
