Description of key information

An acute oral toxicity study in the quail, plus short-term dietary toxicity tests in quail chicks and mallard ducklings are available. In both dietary tests, the maximum tested dose/concentration proved to be a NOEC.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Short-term EC50 or LC50 for birds:
5 620 mg/kg food

Additional information

The short-term dietary NOEC for quail chicks and mallard ducklings was shown to be 5620 ppm in diet (LC50 >5620 ppm). In an acute oral toxicity test, the LC50 for adult quail was shown to be >2250 mg/kg.
