Technical requirements of the test and physical properties of the test substance do not allow correct performance of the Closed bottle test. Therefore,of ready biodegradability of test substance Solvent Red 19E, could not bedetermined.

The substance is highly insoluble in water. In these circumstances, the simulation test may be practically difficult or impossible to conduct at concentrations below the water solubility. In addition, the surface water environment will not be the principal environment of concern.

The direct and indirect exposure of soil is unlikely.

A QSAR approach was therefore used. BIOWIN v4.11 was used to predict the biodegradation of Solvent Red 19E. This QSAR tool uses 7 different models. All 7 models predicted that Solvent Red 19E would be NOT readily biodegradable.
