Description of key information

The assessment of hydrolysis of 1,3-dioxepane is based on analogy to the structurally related substances 1,3 -dioxolane (CAS No. 646 -06 -0) and 1,3,5 -trioxane (CAS No. 110 -88 -3).

Hydrolysis of 1,3-dioxolane and 1,3,5 -trioxane have been tested according to OECD Guideline 111 and both resulted hydrolitically stable at pH 4, 7 and 9 after 4 days at 51°C.

Taking into account the structural similarity with the tested substances 1,3 -dioxepane is considered to be hydrolitically stable with a half-life of > 1 year at pH 4, 7 and 9.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Half-life for hydrolysis:
1 yr
at the temperature of:
25 °C
