Results and discussion

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
Piperonyl butoxide has a low order of acute and chronic toxicity, is not genotoxic, teratogenic, toxic to the reproductive system or oncogenic in three mouse and two rat oncogenicity studies. The liver is the principal target organ and the main toxicological findings are a consequence of hepatotoxicity at very high doses.
