Description of key information

The chronic toxicity (inhibition of reproduction) of the test item 10-UNDECENOIC ACID to Daphnia magna was assessed according to the OECD guideline 211 with semi-static conditions. No effects on neonate production or parental growth were observed. An EC10 of 3.7 mg/L was found for both parental immobilization and neonate production.

The chronic toxicity (inhibition of reproduction) of the test item 10-UNDECENOIC ACID to Daphnia magna was assessed according to the OECD guideline 211 with semi-static conditions (Harris, 2014). Daphnids were exposed to a range of concentrations of 10-UNDECENOIC ACID dissolved in dilution water. The chronic effect measured during the assay was the inhibition of reproduction (neonate production, parental growth and parental immobilization) after a 21 day-period. Daphnids were exposed to a concentration range of 0.1 mg/L to 10 mg/L (nominal concentrations, spacing factor of 3.2). No effect were observed on parental growth. An EC10 of 3.7 mg/L was found for both parental immobilization and neonate production (time weighted average concentration).
