This endpoint is completed by read across from polysulfides di-tert-dodecyl.

Measured concentrations in fish after one day and throughout the 14-day uptake period were less than the limit of detection (LOD, 0.027 µg/g), and therefore no depuration phase was carried out and no BMF or BCF could be determined.

Biomagnification of polysulfides, di-tert-dodecyl was assessed in a study following OECD guideline 305, with Cyprinus carpio (Bouwman 2017). Due to the low water solubility of the test item, dietary exposure was used, in line with REACH guidance. An edibility test was conducted prior to the main study and demonstrated that the fish fed normally when given the treated food. The main study was then conducted with 40 test fish and 45 control fish, with an uptake period of 14 days and no depuration period. The nominal test item concentration in fish feed was 5 µg/g, and concentrations in feed remained stable over the course of the study (94 – 107% of nominal at the end of the test). Measured concentrations in fish after one day and throughout the 14-day uptake period were less than the limit of detection (LOD, 0.027 µg/g), and therefore no depuration phase was carried out and no BMF or BCF could be determined. The validity criteria for the study were fulfilled and the study is considered to be reliable without restrictions.
