First-aid measures

Inhalation: Irritation of the respiratory tract due to excess dust exposure may occur. Remove the exposed person to a well ventilated place and keep at rest.

Skin contact: Wash off with soap and plenty of water.

Eye contact: Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes occasionally lifting upper and lower eyelids. Consult a specialist.

Ingestion: Give plenty of water to drink. If symptoms persist, consult a physician.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media: The product itself does not burn. Use extinguishing measures appropriate to the surrounding environment.

Protective equipment for firefighters: In case of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Avoid dust formation. Do not breathe dust. Use protective gloves, protective suit and eye protection.

Environmental precautions: Avoid releasing large amounts to waterways or sewers.

Clean-up methods: Sweep up spillage and remove according to local waste regulations.

Handling and storage

General information: Avoid dust formation and breathing of dust. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Ensure adequate ventilation. Keep away from food and beverages.

Handling: Use adequate personal protective equipment as required. Proper ventilation is needed during mixing.

Storage: Avoid dust formation. Proper ventilation is needed in closed storage spaces or closed systems/processes. In closed spaces and in contact with water, ash containing metallic aluminium may form hydrogen gas.  Avoid releasing large amounts to waterways or sewers.

In closed spaces and in contact with water, ash containing metallic aluminium may form hydrogen gas when aluminium is oxidized. This may result in an explosion.
