First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: If inhaled, provide fresh air, warmth, rest and seek medical
advice.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Wash out eyes thoroughly with plenty of water for fifteen
minutes. If necessary, seek medical advice.
Emergency measure - Skin: Immediately wash contaminated skin with soap and large
quantities of water for fifteen minutes. If necessary, seek
medical advice.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Do NOT induce vomiting. Drink plenty of water and if
necessary seek medical advice.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam or fog, carbon dioxide.
Product arising from burning: The substance is combustible and will burn if involved in
a fire, evolving noxious fumes (eg carbon and nitrogen
oxides and chlorine containing compounds).

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing
apparatus must be worn.
Fight the fire from a safe distance or protected location.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment conforming to
the relevant national or international standards, as
mentioned in section 2.3.10.
Avoid dust formation. Absorb spillages of solutions with a
suitable inert material (eg. sand or soil). Carefully
transfer the spillage to waste containers, or use a sealed
industrial vacuum machine. Containers filled with waste
material must be labelled in the same way as the
original substance containers.
Clean the spillage area with plenty of soap and water.
Dispose of waste material in accordance with local
regulations.
Handling and storage
Handling: The substance should be stored, handled and used under
conditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity with
any local regulations in order to avoid exposure.
Engineering controls are necessary to reduce exposure to the
substance.
When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled
appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn.
Such protective equipment should conform to the appropriate
international or national standards as follows;
Chemical protective gloves to Standard EN374
Chemical protective clothing to Standard EN368
Eye protection to Standard EN166.
Furthermore, when respiratory protective equipment has to be
used, it must be capable of adequately controlling
exposure, be suitable for the purpose, and conform to the
appropriate international or national standards, such as a
dust mask conforming to EN136.
These measures should be regarded as a minimum.
Storage: Store in a cool dry place away from sources of ignition.
Keep containers tightly closed when not in use.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Fibre drums and double plastic bags.

Dust explosion: The substance is an organic powder, and as such has the
potential to form explosive dust clouds when airborne.
However, the use of appropriate bonding and grounding
prevents the potential for dust explosions.

Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from minor spillages or accidental discharge is not
economically or technically feasible, and such waste
material will be disposed of by incineration. In principle,
it may be possible to recover larger spillages of
uncontaminated material by a recrystallisation process, for
subsequent use.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The notification tests have shown that the substance is
a skin sensitiser.
No chemical treatment is practicable to neutralise the
hazardous health properties.
The dust hazard will be minimised by bonding and grounding
as required to control static charges. Powder handling
equipment such as dust collectors, dryers and mills will
have additional protective measures in place as required,
such as explosion venting.
The notification tests have shown that the substance is
dangerous for the environment, based on low water
solubility, log Pow and non-readily biodegradable. No
chemical treatment is practicable to neutralise the
hazardous environmental properties.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not normally recommended. However, contaminated containers
or spillages of solutions mixed with inert material (eg.
sand or soil) may be disposed of by incineration in
accordance with local regulations.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration is recommended for larger quantities of waste.
National and local regulations must be observed.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should not normally be discharged directly to
the sewage system or the aqueous environment. However,
adverse effects on sewage treatment systems would be
unlikely.
