breathing is difficult. Get immediate medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15
minutes. Get medical attention.

Accidental release measures

personnel from entering the area. Use positive pressure self
contained breathing aparatus in emergency or when airborne
concentrations are unknown. Cover spill with dry vermiculite
or other dry, inert absorbent substance. Place in
appropriate chemical waste container.
Handling and storage
blanket of nitrogen gas. Avoid breathing vapours and contact
with skin or eyes.
When handling the substance, wear a double layer of gloves
(outer layer: acid resistant, inner layer: latex), splash
apron, work uniform and shoes or coveralls to prevent skin
contact.
Use a NIOSH/MSHA approved respirator with organic vapour
cartridges. Use safety goggles or safety glasses with side
shields worn with a face shield.
Storage: Keep in a cool, dry, well ventilated area. Store in a
standard flammable liquids cabinet or room. Do not expose to
air or moisture. Avoid temperatures above 70°C.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The substance is transported in 1.2 litre and 20 litre
stainless steel drums. The 20 litre drum is confirmed TUV
approved.

Transport: The substance should be kept in an appropriate, tightly
closed container during transport. Containers should be
stored upright and secured against falling over. Containers
should be suitably labelled and sealed.

non-violently on exposure to water or air to form corrosive

Disposal considerations
Select will quickly but non violently decompose. Due to the
decomposition as well as the recommended clean up procedure,
recycling and/or recovery of the material involved in a
spill would be difficult.
Schumacher is developing a reclaim procedure for one of the
reaction products resulting from routine use. Cupra Select
itself is reacted during normal use.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration is the preferred method of diposal. The
preparation may be disposed of by burning under controlled
conditions at a licensed waste treatment processor in
accordance with local regulations. Stack gases should be
scrubbed because noxious fumes could be formed. (eg carbon
and fluorine).
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: In the unlikely event that the preparation should enter the
water treatment system, contaminated waste water sould be
treated by means of flocculation precipitation. The
precipitated material should then be incinerated.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None known.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable as the substance will not enter the public
domain.
