First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: If medical complaints appear like difficulty in breathing or
asthma while or after handling the reactive dyestuff or
especially after inhalation of dust seek medical advice
immediately.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Splashes in eyes should be rinsed out immediately with
plenty of clean water or eyewash solution, if necessary
obtain medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Splashes on skin should be removed by cleaning with plenty
of water and soap, use shower if necessary. Contamined
clothing must be removed.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: After ingestion of greater amounts give plenty of water to
drink. Cause vomiting or if necessary, irrigation of
stomach. Give Char-coal, obtain medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, dry powder, CO2. There is no restriction
in the choise of extinguishing agents. It depends entirely
on the scale of the fire and local conditions which
extinguishing agents have to be used.
Product arising from burning: Formation of CO2, CO, water, hydrogen chloride and hydrogen
fluoride, sulphur oxides and nitric oxides is possible.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Respiratory protection equipment and protective clothing
depending on the scale of the fire and local conditions.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Spilt product should be taken up mechanically, spilt
solutions should be taken up with absorbents, residuals
should be taken up with water and all the wastes should be
transfered to labelled waste containers. Inhalation of dust
and contact with skin must be avoided. Cleaning staff must
follow the precautions listed in 2.3.1. Disposal resp.
destruction according to existing environmental legislation
and applicable local regulations (incineration).
Handling and storage
Handling: The product should be handled with good hygiene precautions.
Suitable protective glasses, clothing and gloves are
recommended. Avoid dust formation. Keep away from food and
drink. Use dust-proof filling/refilling systems.
The new dyestuff will be marketed in a non-dusting
formulation. Do not breathe dust or aerosols. Provide
effective ventilation. If necessary, use particle filters
(dustmasks P 2). Persons with chronic illness of the
respiratory tracts should avoid reactive dyestuffs. Persons
with sensitization to reactive dyestuffs must avoid all
contacts with reactive dyestuffs.
Storage: Store in a dry place at room temperature. Store in tightly
closed containers.
Storage rooms should be treated with common hygiene
precautions. Opened containers should be tightly closed
after use. Avoid substance residues on the containers.

Special provisions / remarks
- Remarks:
- Transport: The product is not a dangerous cargo. The product can be
transported without special risk, provided the precautions
normally taken in the transportation of similar products are
applied. This also includes suitable unbreakable packaging
also with respect to stack height, protection against
falling and proper labelling. The new dyestuff is nearly
odorless. Protect against moisture, keep away from food and
drink.

Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire: According to the test results and the experience made with
comparable substances no other hazards are likely.
Chemical reaction with water: Hydroysis of the reactive group, especially in the heat and
the presence of alkali.
Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery and reuse is not economically possible.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: If used as intended there is no danger.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Dumping on waste disposal sites, which are insulated to
prevent percolation of liquids into the ground, is possible
if in accordance with local, state or national legislation.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The incineration of dry dyestuffs is possible. Burning leads
to the formation of acidic waste gases, which are common for
dyestuffs resp. organic compounds of this kind, containing
nitrogen, halogens and sulphur. Incineration should be
performed under carefully controlled conditions, ideally by
using an industrial unit specifically designed for chemical
incineration with exhaust gas scrubbing.
Dye containing waste liquours generally are too much diluted
for incineration. But it can be recommended to spray such
liquors onto normal domestic garbage for common
incineration.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Organic dyestuffs in waste water are not biologically
degradable under aerobic conditions if there is only a short
treatment time. In biological waste water treatment plants,
however, they can be largely eliminated with the sludge due
to adsorption and precipitation.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The new chemical when used as intended will not enter the
public domain.

The dyed products which contain small amounts of the test
substance can be discharged with the normal domestic garbage
on waste disposal sites or favourably by incineration.
