- the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is hydrolytically unstable at pH 4, 7 and 9 (half-life less than 12 hours)
- Justification for type of information:
- The substance is a UVCB reactive aluminium complex, that is expected to hydrolyse quickly on contact with water or moisture. The substance is not amenable to experimental or calculated determination of the octanol-water partition.
Substance is expected to undergo fast hydrolysis, as with other such oxoaluminium complexes that are manufactured and used in the same way.
The hydrolysis products are: aluminium hydroxide oxide (CAS 24623-77-6) [mixture of aluminium hydroxide (CAS 1344-28-1) and aluminium oxide (CAS 21645-51-2)], and 2-ethylhexanoic acid (CAS 149-57-5) with reported water solubility of 1.4 g/L at 20 °C, pH 3.3 (ie for non-ionised form).
