Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The ready biodegradabity of the test compound was determined in two OECD 301 series tests, and the inherent biodegradability of its major degradation product was determined in a DIN EN 29888 part 25 test.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In an OECD 301F test, biodegradation of CS-1246 ranged from 19% based on oxygen consumption, 22% based on CO2 evolution, and 23% based on DOC removal. In an OECD 301C test, biodegradation of CS-1246 ranged from 14% based on oxygen consumption, 30% based on DOC removal, and 100% based on chemical specific analysis. In a DIN EN 29888 part 25 test, 90% biodegradation of 2-amino-2-ethyl-1,3-propanediol (AEPD), a hydrolysis product of CS-1246, occurred within 7 days based on DOC analysis. These results indicate that CS-1246 meets the OECD criteria of inherent, primary biodegradability, and the hydrolysis product AEPD meets the criteria of inherent, ultimate biodegradability.
