Description of key information
The 96-h LC50 value is > 46.0 (LC0) and < 100 mg/L (LC0) in fish (Leuciscus idus L.). The geometric mean of the LC0 and LC100 is 67.8 mg/L.

Additional information
The short-term toxicity to freshwater fish was determined in a study that closely followed DIN 38412 L.1 and L.15 (GLP not specified) (BASF, 1988). In this study, groups of 10 golden orfe (Leuciscus idus L.) were exposed to nominal test concentrations of 0 (control), 10.0, 21.5, 46.4 and 100 mg/L for 96 hours in static conditions. The test concentrations were selected based on the results of a range-finding study. Test concentrations were not analytically verified; therefore the effect values were expressed as nominal. No mortality and symptoms were observed in the control and all test groups, except for the test group exposed ot the highest concentration of 100 mg/L. At this concentration, mortality was 100% (10/10 fish died) after 1 hour exposure. Based on these findings, the 96-h LC50 is determined to be > 46 mg/L and < 100 mg/L. The geometric mean of the LC0 (46 mg/L) and LC100 (100 mg/L) is 67.8 mg/L (determined by the assessor).
