First-aid measures

First aid procedures

Eye contact       Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and consult a physician.

Skin contact       Wash off with soap and plenty of water. Consult a physician.

Inhalation       If breathed in, move person into fresh air. If not breathing give artificial respiration Consult a physician.

Ingestion       Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Rinse mouth with water. Consult a physician.

Notes to physician       Treat symptoms.

Fire-fighting measures

Flammable properties       Not available.

Extinguishing media

Suitable extinguishing media       Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.

Unsuitable extinguishing media       Not available.

Firefighting equipment/instructions       Firefighters must wear fire resistant protective equipment. Wear self contained breathing apparatus and protective gloves.

Hazardous combustion products       Carbon oxides.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions       Use personal protective equipment. Avoid breathing vapors, mist or gas. Ensure adequate ventilation.

Environmental precautions       Avoid disposing into drainage/sewer system or directly into the aquatic environment.

Methods for cleaning up       Soak up with inert absorbent material and dispose of as hazardous waste. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.

Handling and storage

Handling       Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid inhalation of vapour or mist. Normal measures for preventive fire protection.

Storage       Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place.

Exposure controls:

Appropriate engineering controls:       Use in a well-ventilated area.

Individual protection measures, such as personal protective equipment:

Eye / face protection       Safety glasses with side-shields conforming to EN166.

Skin protection       Handle with gloves.

Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work place.

Respiratory protection       Where risk assessment shows air-purifying respirators are appropriate use a full-face respirator with multipurpose combination (US) or type ABEK (EN 14387) respirator cartridges as a backup to engineering controls. If the respirator is the sole means of protection, use a full-face supplied air respirator. Use respirators and components tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or CEN (EU).

General hygiene

considerations       Wash hands, forearms and face thoroughly after handling chemical products, before eating, smoking and using the lavatory and at the end of the working period. Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and feed. Immediately remove all soiled and contaminated clothing.

Stability and reactivity

Chemical stability       Material is stable under normal conditions.

Conditions to avoid       Incompatible materials.

Incompatible materials       Strong oxidizing agents, Strong acids, Strong bases.

Hazardous decomposition products       Carbon oxides.

Possibility of hazardous reactions       No dangerous reactions known.

Disposal considerations

Disposal instructions       Dispose of contents/container in accordance with local/regional/national/international regulations.

Contaminated packaging       Since emptied containers may retain product residue, follow label warnings even after container is emptied.
