Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
not applicable
Executive summary:

Undecylenic acid induced rather teratogenic but primarily lethal effects when applied to 1st instar larvae of Rhodnius proxilus at doses between 0.1 and 1 µL/larva via topical application or 100 µL via contact exposure. Teratogenic effects, if apparent, occurred only at those dosages which caused also significant mortality. There were no differences in the effects irrespective whether hungry or feeded larvae were used. Eggs of the bug were not affected at treatment doses of 5, 10 and 20 µL of undecylenic acid.
