First-aid measures

- General information:

Take affected persons out of danger area and lay down.

In case of irregular breathing or respiratory arrest provide artificial respiration.

Remove breathing equipment only after contaminated clothing have been completely removed.

- After inhalation:

Supply fresh air or oxygen; call for doctor.

In case of unconsciousness place patient stably in side position for transportation.

- After skin contact:

Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly.

Seek medical treatment.

- After eye contact:

Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. Then consult a doctor.

Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.

- After swallowing:

Drink plenty of water and provide fresh air. Call for a doctor immediately.

Do NOT induce vomiting.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing agents:

CO2, powder or water spray. Fight larger fires with water spray or alcohol resistant foam.

Use fire extinguishing methods suitable to surrounding conditions.

- For safety reasons unsuitable extinguishing agents: Water with full jet

- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Formation of toxic gases is possible during heating or in case of fire.

In case of fire, the following can be released:

Carbon dioxide

Nitrogen oxides (NOx)

-Advice for firefighters /Protective equipment:

Wear self-contained respiratory protective device.

Additional information

Cool endangered receptacles with water spray.

Collect contaminated fire fighting water separately. It must not enter the sewage system.

Accidental release measures

- Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:

Ensure adequate ventilation.

Wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away.

Keep away from ignition sources.

- Environmental precautions:

Do not allow to enter sewers/ surface or ground water

- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:

Ensure adequate ventilation.

Use neutralising agent.

Absorb with liquid-binding material (sand, diatomite, acid binders, universal binders, sawdust).

Dispose of the material collected according to regulations.

Handling and storage

This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 17(3) and Article 18(4) for on-site isolated intermediates and transported isolated intermediates. Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each manufacturing site. See section 13 (RMMs report) for further information.

- General:

The user is advised to keep the drums of product closed and avoid exposure to air when handling. It is also advised to use multiples of full drums to avoid storage of opened drums.

Keep system tightly closed (also for quality reasons to avoid air/oxygen to get in contact with the product that causes coloring)

Precautions for safe handling:

Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace.

Open and handle receptacle with care.

- Information about fire and explosion protection:

Keep ignition sources away - Do not smoke.

Keep respiratory protective device available.

- Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles:

Store in a cool location.

Store only in the original receptacle.

-  Information about storage in one common storage facility:
