First-aid measures

General advice:

Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately.

Inhalation:

Provide fresh air. Monitor breathing, seek medical advice immediately.

Skin contact:

Wash off with plenty of water and soap and rub in skin-cream.

Eye contact:

Rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.

Ingestion:

Call a physician immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:

Water spray, Foam, Carbon dioxide (CO2)

Extinguishing media which shall not be used for safety reasons:

High volume water jet

Further information:

Cool containers / tanks with water spray. Closed container may rupture if strongly heated.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:

Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking. Ensure adequate ventilation.

Environmental precautions:

Do not flush into surface water. Prevent product from entering drains. Explosive properties Do not let product enter drains. Avoid subsoil penetration.

Methods for cleaning up:

Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust).

Handling and storage

HANDLING

Safe handling advice:

Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion:

Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking. Use only explosion-proof equipment.

STORAGE

Requirements for storage areas and containers:

Keep containers tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place. Keep away from direct sunlight. It is urgently recommended to ensure that the oldest

stored material is used first (first in - first out).

Storage classification (VCI system/Germany):

3; Flammable Liquids

Storage period:

<= 9 Months

Storage temperature:

< 25 °C

Note:

Check open containers for peroxides after 3 months. It is recommended to inertise the containers when opening.

Stability and reactivity

Thermal decomposition:

Distils without decomposition at atmospheric pressure.

Hazardous reactions:

In the presence of light and atmospheric oxygen, the product very quickly tends to form peroxides.

The product may decompose explosively if it is concentrated or heated (e.g. distillation).

Further information:

Do not open or move containers with crystals on the seal. Peroxides (that have formed) may explode.

Disposal considerations

Product:

Following pre-treatment and observing the regulations for hazardous wastes, it must be taken to a permitted hazardous wastes landfill

 or hazardous wastes incinerator.

Contaminated packaging:

Contaminated packaging should be emptied optimally and after being suitably cleaned returned for re-use.
