Description of key information

4.1

Physical appearance

The test item is as a white or off-white crystalline powder or colourless crystals at 20 °C and 1013 hPa (Method: visual observation and DSC).

4.2

Melting point

The test item has a melting point of about 70°C as determined by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).

4.3

Boiling point

The test item showed decomposition between >140 - <200 °C before boiling. (by Thermal stability test, 4.19).

4.4

Density

The relative density of p substance (20°C)/p water (4°C) = 1.2802 according to OECD Test Guidelines 109 (2012) and Regulation EC No. 440/2008 Part A. Method A.3).

Particle size distribution (Granulometrie)

The L10 D (v, 0.1) was determined to be 2.5 µm, the MMAD L50 D (v, 0.5) was determined to be 17.0 µm and the L90 D (v, 0.9) was determined to be 78.4 µm by Laser Diffraction method according to the national standard method (CIPAC MT 187).

Vapour Pressure

Vapour pressure was determined to be of 1.5 x 10-5 Pa at 20°C, 2.8 x 10-5 Pa at 25°C and 4.7 x 10-4 Pa at 50°C ( by effusion method: vapour pressure balance) according to and OECD Test Guideline 104 (2006) and Regulation EC 440/2008 Method A.4.Vapour Pressure.

Partition coefficient

The test item has a partition coefficient of 1.31 at 20°C as determined by HPLC method according to Regulation EC No. 440/2008 Method A.8. and OECD Test Guideline 117 (2004).

Water solubility

It can be assumed that about 41% of the dissolved test item underwent degradation within 259 hours at pH 9 and 20°C. The determined solubility of 29.82 g/L represents 59% of the dissolved test item as determined by flask method according to Regulation EC No. 440/2008 Method A.6., OECD Test Guideline 105 (1995).

4.12

Autoflammability;

Relative self-ignition temperature (solids)

The test item indicated no self-ignition up to its melting range from 55 to 80°C according to EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids).

4.13

Flammability

During the ignition no independent burning or glowing over the length of the pile was observed in the preliminary test (with a gas burner) according to EU Method A.10 (Flammable solid).
