Eleventh meeting of the Exchange Network on Exposure Scenarios (ENES 11)

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) together with Cefic, Concawe, DUCC, Eurométaux, Fecc and Member States will organise the 11th meeting of ENES on 23 and 24 November 2017 in Helsinki.

ENES aims to identify and promote good practices in communication about conditions of safe use of chemicals in the supply chain.

Key topics to discuss are:

On the first day, ENES11 will provide hands-on exercises to better understand how the communication up and down the supply chain can work in practice. The exercises will demonstrate how registrants can work with the harmonised and updated use maps prepared by downstream sectors. There will be also the opportunity for formulating companies to try out how they can transform exposure scenarios received from their suppliers into meaningful information for their customers, supplied via the extended safety data sheet for the mixture. And finally there will be an opportunity for the users of chemicals to provide feedback on examples of safe use information they may receive in future as attachments to the safety data sheets.

On the second day, the ENES Coordination Group will present the draft work programme until 2020, inviting all participants to ask questions, to make proposals and/or to offer contributions. The programme aims to identify the remaining gaps in communication on safe use along the whole supply chain and work out solutions. Learnings from day one will be taken into account.

The event’s material will be made public on ECHA's website.
