Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Short-term toxicity to fish
For the read across substances, the 96 -h LC50 values for fish were determined to be >100 mg/L in the GLP-compliant studies conducted according to OECD 203 and EU C.1 guidelines (1999, 2015).
Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates
For the read across substances, the 48-hour EC50 values for immobilisation of Daphnia were determined to be >100 mg/L (1999, 2015). The studies were conducted according to OECD guideline 202 and EU C.2 method and were GLP-compliant.
Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria
Based on nominal test concentrations, the 72-hour NOELR and EL50 for growth rate were determined to be 33.1 mg/L and 114 mg/L, respectively (2019). This study was conducted according to a standard method and was GLP-compliant.
Toxicity to microorganisms
The NOEC of test item to aquatic microorganisms is 2.0 mg test item/L. The toxicity of the test item to activated sewage sludge was taken from the toxicity control of a GLP-compliant ready biodegradability Closed Bottle test following OECD guideline 301D (2019).
Additional information
Ecotoxicological endpoints are completed for the test item based on test data following standard guidelines. No data is available for the short erm toxicity to fish and short term toxicity to invertebrates with the substance reaction mass of amines, hydrogenated tallow alkyl and azelaic acid and lithium hydroxide. Read across from dilithium azelate and reaction mixture of hydrogenated tallow alkyl amines with sebacic acid and calcium hydroxide is used to complete these endpoints. A new study with reaction mass of amines, hydrogenated tallow alkyl and azelaic acid and lithium hydroxide was conducted for the toxicity to algae endpoint.
All data are considered to be reliable and relevant for the endpoint concerned.
