Key result
Flash point:
111 °C
Atm. press.:
1 atm
Conclusions:
The flash point of nopyl acetate was determined to be 111°C.
The substance is not classified as flammable according to Directive 67/548/EEC (DSD) nor to Regulation (EC) N°1272/2008 (CLP) criteria.
Executive summary:

The determination of the flash point was performed in accordance with EU Method A.9 and the Standard Test Method ASTM D 3828-97.

The flash point was measured with a closed cup tester by an equilibrium method "Small Scale", commonly known as Setaflash where the vapours are deemed to be in temperature equilibrium with the liquid.

Two measurements were performed.

The flash point of nopyl acetate was determined to be 111°C.

Description of key information

The flash point was determined with a closed cup tester by the Setaflash method.
The flash point of nopyl acetate is 111°C.
According to the criteria of Directive 67/548/EEC and Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP), nopyl acetate is not classified as flammable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
111 °C

Additional information

Key study conducted according to EU Method A.9 and ISO ASTM D3828 -97 method. The result is scientifically acceptable but not obtained under GLP. Therefore a reliability of 2 (reliable with restrictions) was assigned. The result can be retained as key value for chemical safety assessment.
