Administrative data
First-aid measures
respirationif breathing has ceased or shows signs of
failing. Obtainimmediate medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Irrigate with eyewash solution or clean water, holding
theeyelids apart, for at least 15 minutes. Obtain immediate
medical attention. Removal of any solid material from
theeye must only be attempted by a qualified medical person.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash immediately with copious amounts of water. Continuefor
15 minutes. Obtain immediate medical attention.
Removecontaminated clothing and launder before re-use.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Obtain immediate medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Product arising from burning: The substance is flammable and will burn if involved in
afire, evolving noxious fumes (eg carbon and nitrogen oxide
sand titanium-containing compounds). However, there is
noexperimental evidence to support the anticipated combustio
nproducts.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Full protective clothing (butyl rubber boots, gloves andbody
suit) and self-contained breathing apparatus must beworn.
Accidental release measures
personal protective equipment conforming tothe relevant
national or international standards asmentioned in section
2.3.10.Contain spillages with sand, earth or any suitable
absorbentmaterial. Transfer to lidded container for
disposal. Cleanthe spillage area with water and detergent.
Do not allowproduct to enter drains, sewers or watercourses
.Dispose of waste material by incineration in acordance with
local regulations.
Handling and storage
inconditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity
withany local regulations in order to avoid
exposure.Engineering controls are necessary to reduce
exposure to thesubstance. When exposure cannot be prevented
or adequately controlledappropriate personal protective
equipment should be worn.Such protective equipment should
conform to the appropriateinternational or national
standards as follows;Chemical protective gloves to Standard
EN374 (neoprene ornitrile rubber)Chemical resistant clothing
to Standard EN368 (including PVCsuit and rubber footwearEye
protection to Standard EN166When necessary appropriate
respiratory protection should beused. e.g. a vapour mask
conforming to EN405 FFA1.The standards mentioned above
should be regarded as aminimum.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, away fromsources
of ignition. Keep only in original container
attemperatures not exceeding 40°C.Keep containers tightly
closed when not in use.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 1000 litre Tycon Type TP1000 Intermediate Bulk
Containers, each holding 950 kg product. The IBCs have UN
approval forthe transport of Class 3, 6.1 and 8 packing
groups II and IIgoods.

Stability and reactivity
Chemical reaction with water: Rapid hydrolysis to yield ethanol and2-dimethylaminoethanol.
Dust explosion: Not applicable as the substance is a liquid.
Dust explosion determined by test: N
Disposal considerations
fromminor spillages or accidental discharge is not
economicallyor technically feasible, and such waste material
will bedisposed of by incineration. In principle, it may be
possible to recover larger spillages of
uncontaminatedmaterial for subsequent use.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The notification tests have shown that the substance
isconsidered hazardous to health as it is a skin and
eyeirritant. The substance is also classified as "dangerous
for theenvironment".No chemical treatment is practicable to
neutralise thehazardous properties.The flammability hazard
will be controlled by appropriatestorage and handling
techniques.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration by
burningunder controlled conditions at a licensed waste
treatmentprocessor in accordance with local regulations.
Stack gasesshould be scrubbed, because noxious fumes (eg
carbon andnitrogen oxides and titanium-containing compounds)
could beformed.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should not be discharged directly to thesewage
system or the aqueous environment.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: Ths substance may be disposed of via controlled
destructionas a fuel in cement manufacture.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable as the substance will not be made availableto
the general public.
Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable as the substance will not be made availableto
the general public.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not applicable as the substance will not be made availableto
the general public.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not applicable as the substance will not be made availableto
the general public.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not applicable as the substance will not be made availableto
the general public.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: Not applicable as the substance will not be made availableto
the general public.
